Avery Newman

Apparel design graduate from oregon state university

Welcome! My name is Avery Newman, and I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Apparel Design at Oregon State University in June 2024. I was a dedicated employee for almost three years at a boutique in Corvallis where I designed and brought visions to life making custom apparel for a diverse range of consumers. I also worked as a Social Media Manager and a Sales Floor Representative during this position.

About me

I am a recent graduate from OSU and I am very excited about what the future holds for me! I am currently open to any job opportunities regarding the fashion and beauty industry! A fun fact about me is I attended Beauty School while in High School and earned my Esthetician License, Freelance License, and Independent Contractor License. I have been performing Eyelash Extension Services since 2018 while going to school and working at the boutique. I love staying busy! I am experienced within Graphic Design, Apparel Design and working with sales and marketing. Check out some of my work!

A custom hat I created

Honeygurl Boutique

I was employed at Honeygurl Boutique since September 2022 to February 2025. My position with the company included being a Graphic Designer, Social Media Manager, and a Sales Floor Representative. I throughly enjoyed that each day is different and full of expressing creativity, it was a wonderful experience! I have personally designed numerous items of apparel ranging from crewnecks, tops, hats, and more!

Other designs by me

Above is a pattern swatch I made for one of my design classes and then placed on a mock-up of a shoe.

Pictured below is a tattoo design I drew for myself using Adobe Illustrator. To the right shows the tattoo in action! This design means a lot to me!

Pictured to the left is a custom design I created for my Sorority, Alpha Phi for Dad’s Weekend in 2021 when I had the position of Director of Merchandising in my Sorority. During this time I also worked for a company called β€œSouth by Sea” where I would design and create custom apparel for chapters on campus and other clientele!

Above shows a pattern I made in Illustrator and then I brought it over to Lotta for a 3-D visual on a pair of leggings for one of my design classes.

Pictured above are two examples of technical flats I have created using Adobe Illustrator! Technical flats are always fun to do and something I really enjoy!

I have also created lots of pattern swatches using Illustrator! To the left is an example of one I have made for a class recently.
